This is an easy dish which is so crunchy and delicious and perfect for breakfast or brunch, if you have batter in hand. They are airy little bites of pancake with a crisp outer shell and soft and fluffy middle.
Ingredients
- One cup idli batter
- Quarter cup chopped cabbage
- Half teaspoon chilly powder
- Half teaspoon pepper-cumin powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Add chopped cabbage, chilly powder, pepper powder and salt to Idly batter. Mix well.Keep aside.
- Wash & Rub some oil in each round of the Paniyaram pan and put the pan in the stove with heat on medium high
- When the pan is hot, add little oil to each of the rounds.
- When the oil sizzles in the pan, pour batter in to each round, enough to fill about 3/4 full.
- The batter will puff, as it starts to cook.
- Once little bubbles start popping & the edges are setting a bit, use your preferred tool(wooden skewer, knife or back of a metal spoon)and Turn it around carefully over itself and cook on the other side.
- Keep cooking until the whole ball is golden brown in colour.
- Use skewer or spoon and lift them out of the pan carefully.
- Serve warm with any chutney.
